Wall Sawing in Riverside, CA

Track-mounted diamond blade cutting for vertical concrete walls, foundations, and slabs at any angle — for openings, penetrations, and precise removal.

Diamond blade wall saw cutting through concrete with sparks

What We Do

Wall sawing uses a track-mounted circular diamond blade to cut through vertical concrete surfaces with precision. Unlike flat sawing which cuts horizontal slabs, wall saws operate on a guide rail system bolted directly to the wall — allowing cuts at any angle, depth, and orientation on vertical or inclined surfaces.

DSI uses wall sawing for window and door openings in concrete walls, service penetrations, partial wall removal, stairwell cutouts, and anywhere a flat saw can't operate. The track system keeps cuts straight and clean without chipping or cracking the surrounding concrete.

When You Need Wall Sawing

Wall sawing is used whenever an opening has to be cut in a vertical or inclined concrete surface: new doors and windows in tilt-up and cast-in-place walls, openings in foundation and retaining walls, service penetrations too large to core, stairwell and elevator openings, and partial wall removal during remodels and seismic retrofits.

Because the saw runs on a track bolted to the wall, cuts are straight, square and accurate to the layout, with clean edges that need little or no patching before frames or new structure go in.

How DSI Handles Wall Sawing

  1. Confirm the opening layout, wall thickness and reinforcement with the GC and engineer; shoring is in place before structural cuts.
  2. Scan the wall with GPR where rebar, post-tension or conduit locations are unknown.
  3. Mount the track and set up water, slurry control and protection on both sides of the wall.
  4. Make the perimeter cuts, add relief cuts or cores at corners as needed, and remove the concrete in pieces sized for handling.
  5. Clean the work area and haul off the removed sections.

What Affects the Cost of Wall Sawing

Every job is quoted from its actual scope, fixed-price or hourly. The main factors are:

  • Linear feet of cut and wall thickness
  • Reinforcement and access on both sides of the wall
  • How the cut sections are removed: rigging, breaking or hauling
  • Height of the work and any lifts or staging needed
  • GPR scanning and haul-off

Safety & Compliance

Wall sawing is done wet to control silica dust under Cal/OSHA requirements, and slurry is contained on both sides of the wall.

Structural assessment and shoring are the engineer's and GC's scope; we sequence our cuts after shoring is in place and remove cut sections in controlled pieces.

Wall Sawing Across California

DSI provides wall sawing from our Riverside yard across the Inland Empire, including Corona, Ontario, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Jurupa Valley, and we mobilize for projects in Southern California, the High Desert, Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, the Central Valley, Northern California. Common Questions
What's the difference between wall sawing and flat sawing?
Flat sawing cuts horizontal surfaces like slabs and pavement. Wall sawing uses a track-mounted system to cut vertical surfaces — walls, foundations, inclined slabs — where a walk-behind flat saw can't operate.
How deep can a wall saw cut?
Depth depends on blade diameter and wall thickness. Wall saws can typically reach 24–30 inches per pass on standard commercial concrete. Call with your wall thickness and we'll confirm.
Do you scan for rebar and conduit before cutting?
GPR scanning is available and recommended before any wall cutting where post-tension cable, conduit, or structural rebar locations are unknown. DSI can coordinate scanning prior to the saw crew mobilizing.
Can you cut openings in load-bearing walls?
DSI cuts the concrete — structural assessment and shoring are the GC or engineer's scope. We coordinate with your GC on sequencing so the cut happens after shoring is in place.
How much does wall sawing cost?
Pricing depends on the linear feet of cut, wall thickness and reinforcement, access on both sides, and how the cut sections are removed. Send the opening sizes and wall details for a quote.
Can you cut door and window openings in tilt-up walls?
Yes. New door, window and dock openings in tilt-up panels are a common wall sawing scope. We coordinate with your engineer's details and the GC's shoring plan.
Do you remove the cut concrete?
Yes. We remove cut sections in manageable pieces and haul them off as part of the scope when requested.
