Pavement milling and asphalt surface removal for resurfacing prep, grade correction, and repair work on commercial lots and roadways.
Asphalt grinding — also called pavement milling — removes the top layer of asphalt using a rotating drum with carbide cutting teeth. The result is a clean, profiled surface ready for new asphalt overlay, seal coat, or base repair without full removal of the existing pavement structure.
DSI handles asphalt grinding for parking lot resurfacing prep, road repair, grade corrections, utility trench restoration, and anywhere failing asphalt surface needs to be stripped back to a sound base layer. Ground material is loaded directly into trucks for haul-off.
Asphalt grinding is used when a pavement surface is worn, cracked or out of grade but the base underneath is still sound. Milling off the top layer prepares the surface for a new overlay, keeps finished grades matched to curbs, gutters and drains, and costs far less than full removal and replacement.
Typical projects include parking lot resurfacing, street and driveway overlays, butt joints at transitions, grade corrections for drainage, and restoring surfaces over utility trenches.
Every job is quoted from its actual scope, fixed-price or hourly. The main factors are:
Grinding is done with water to control dust, and traffic control and phasing are coordinated with the GC or property manager so the site stays usable and safe.
Millings (RAP) are hauled to recycling, where they are reused in new asphalt or as base material.
